We are God’s Creatures, Born this Way
In days of old and times past
Many stood and spoke their best
Of all they believed both good and ill,
To those who would listen, standing still.
Abram spoke of his resolve
To follow God beyond by love
Moses stood against Egypt’s might
Because He knew God’s cause was right
Elijah spoke against the prophets, Baal
A victor above their stricken wail
Jonah preached in spite of gale
Brought forth out of the mighty whale
Jesus stood and taught the Light
To many who lived in darkest night
He spoke of love and dearest truth
To each one old, and tender youth
Can we like them rise up to say
What without reservation must be relayed?
God works in people, brave or small
His wonders are beheld by all
Oft times its not the many or famed,
But lowly and separate ones are named,
To stand and speak His truth on high
For all to heed and not deny
God uses both genders equally each day
To show His will and walk His way
Gays and Lesbians are people too
Used by God back then and new
Stand and embrace with love unfeigned
Equal partners in God’s domain
We are his children, whom He has taught
God’s love and welcome to us he brought.
Speak with they of old God’s Truth
The Bible gives no clear rebuke
Same gender love is still true love
The gift of God from up above
Let not hate belay the Word
Or envy mock its giving Lord
Brothers and Sisters stand and say
We are God’s creatures, born this way
